This subwoofer was a great sub, and the quality was amazing for a small 10 in. sub. It's a heavy sub, and looks very great and has a smooth design. I had it parallel wired to an Infinity 1600a reference mono amp and it's in a .75 sealed box. At first, I thought the sub was okay, it hit the notes very well and provided a clear sound, but I felt like it didn't sound as good as an SR sub of that quality would sound like. But, as the manual said, I had to keep the volume/bass at a normal level, and to allow around 50 hours of music and bass to make the subwoofer break in. About a month and a half later, the sub became very powerful. The bass was much more fluid, loud, and clear. It is more of a sub that has musical bass. As long as you tune it right, it has no distortion and packs a punch for a 10 in. sub. Also, Polk covers it with a 3 year warranty, so you can't beat that. Highly recommended!!!

To start off, THIS SUBWOOFER IS RIDICULOUS! Ok with my gushing out of the way comes the real review. The whole reason why I opted for Polk over the big car audio brands such as Poineer, JL, or any of those guys was because of the quality of the powered sub I bought from them for my home theater system. I ordered this sub as a Christmas gift to myself along with the Polk Audio PA 500.1 four channel amplifier. The sub came on time and was in two boxes which I appreciated because it was shipped from the other side of the country. The fist thing I noticed was the weight of the box, it was heavy, a good sign in the world of woofers. The speaker was installed in my car (2006 Chevy Aveo sedan) along with the amp and two new Pioneer 6x9's. I already had an existing system in my vehicle so I just had the shop that did the initial install swap the components (amp and sub). Right when I got the vehicle back the sound difference was immediate. The bass was tighter, deeper, and cleaner. I have loved listening to everything from hip-hop to classical music. There is nothing this sub can not do within it's limitations. It has some problems with super low bass but what 10" speaker doesn't? After about three months the sub was broken in by manufacturer standards (50 hours of music at medium volume) so I let it rip. I always crack a smile when I "bump" my music in traffic and people look over at my commuter sedan and laugh as I thump on down the road. I would recommend (and have recommended) this speaker to anyone looking for affordable professional sound in their own vehicle. Be warned: the only down side is that you have to turn it down if you don't want it to be stolen in any public setting! Great, great product. Polk does it again.
